"The Gates are not very old but they are are the barbarian Gods of this city, without them we are defenseless and dispirited. They fight, defend, love and hate along with us. If the wall collapsed our world would shatter like a silver snow globe." - Harlequin Perry, former Council member, Philosopher
Welcome to Angels, a futuristic anthromorphic ("furry") RPG story-line following the uneasy Reconstruction of a cold, sky bound, technology ridden island city after a terrible tragedy, and the quest of it's citizens as well as the infamous Hour Glass Guild to save it.
We're at an Intermediate-Advanced Literacy level but anyone who intends to improve is always welcome.

Weather in St. Lucent
To the shock of the local weather reporters, at the beginning of summer when the warmest temperatures should peak the temperature has suddenly DROPPED.
It's snowing.

The Gates of St. Lucent (4 sub-boards) The gates of St. Lucent (or simply 'the gates' as the locals call them)-- are blessedly more for the purpose of keeping things out than in, the secluded location of the city, almost entirely surrounded by water, makes it difficult to get to at leisure, even with newer technology because the air currents are so treacherous for inexperienced or foolhardy pilots.
Outside the gates a tiny strip of brush exists and then a straight drop down to the Teagan Sea below, the gates open and close to provide access to trade ships, caravan gliders and low-flying hovercrafts.
The gates themselves are a national source of interest. Saint Dwight Lucent himself spent his entire life time having these gates built for specific, mysterious, purposes, giving the metropolis it's namesake.
His motivation was unclear, but his skill was unquestionable enough, for the gates are clockwork run, and perhaps a little supernatural. They always open at nearly the exact time a newcomer arrives and for all aesthetic purposes, on their own accord, (that is, unless they don’t want to). Local legends only give these rumors more breeding ground to thrive, and thrive they do.
Gargoyles and other stone guardians peek down malevolently perched on the side of the walk that connects with the bullet train that weaves through the rest of the city. The wall is as wide as it is long (it circles and twists like a dragon coiled around a heap of treasure, all around the island).
It is a popular spot for tourists, joggers, young skyboarders as well as general inhabitants and there is more than one cafe comfortably nestled at these perilous heights.
Chamber Known only as "Chamber" this vast stadium is made entirely of white stone benches carved from huge pieces long ago. In the center is a long table, this is the Council's territory and it is dangerous territory at that.

Character Housing If you would like a house for your character please PM an administrator and we'll make a subboard for you in this board in either West or East Lucent. Please also send a description for the board.
Remember no one in Lucent lives completely alone, a small house will have at least two more houses on top of it, large three room apartments are popular, lofts and usually room mates are a normal occurrence even for grown men and women.

West Lucent (9 sub-boards) The sky and ground of St. Lucent both bustle busily, cars have long grown out of style especially on this little island, most people drive motor bikes, scooters or hovergliders and skyboards. If you need to get to the other side of the city in a hurry though nothing moves quicker than the Lucent Express bullet train, but it'll cost you a pretty penny.
The West is generally the "good" side of Lucent, home to many shops and good apartment complexes and mixed development lofts (which nearly everyone lives in). All of these have a roof garden or a pool hall, most are pretty cheaply built but why stay at home anyway when the city thrives within the gates like a beating heart in an enourmous rib cage.
Law Enforcement Facility of St. Lucent (6 sub-boards) This is probably the largest, and most public place the Angels's operate, if you wait outside long enough you will see an Angel coming or going and they might even talk to you but no one except Angels and prisoners pass this fence. No one is stupid enough to attempt to get past the flawless identification system, or at least not in the last twenty years.
Criminals are also housed here, relatively well though it is definite isolation because of the unity and luxury of St. Lucent even for the poorest people. The jail is small because of the forceful way Angel's usually deal with large threats and the fact that any criminals worth catching are too smart to be caught, and catching one or two will not eliminate a rebel group.
The Angel's don't waste time with pick pockets, but arsonists, murderers and technological terrorists reside here. That is, if their lucky enough.
The University of West Lucent A college with a regal history, St. Lucent's partner founded this high school. There have been several reportings of his ghost walking the grounds but evidence is insubstantial.

Community Center of St. Lucent (5 sub-boards) The community center of St. Lucent is vast and several decades old having jobs in every recreational field imaginable, so much so that it employs at least a quarter of the adolescents and young adults in St. Lucent. It has rock climbing, a swimming pool, a vast field for ball games and a mini sky boarding park.
The main attraction however is the Red Pavilion Library, an outdoor library (the books are made specially to be protected of coarse) where readers can sit and read in the sun or shade, in the ambiance of the gardens all around them.

East Lucent (7 sub-boards) Though no part of St. Lucent is completely bad, this is a good deal more shady than West Lucent will ever be, everyone here seems to be in a hurry and usually for the wrong reasons.
Because of the way the buildings were spaced alleys stretch for miles like a true concrete jungle, any one who enters them risks being lost and subjected to whoever resides within those darker corners.
Beacon Community Hospital An technologically advanced hospital with great waiting policies and an enormous grounds.
Several of the worlds top mechanical-bionics surgeons reside here as well as an army of highly trained medical staff.
The food here is bad though, pity.

The Plaza The Plaza is a vast circle of emerald green tiles that stretches for miles and is packed to the brim with chains of stores, it is St. Lucent's equivalent to a gigantic mall.
